Last 2 weeks we were in Igatu, a small village in Vale do Pati, the same national park of the last 2 articles. We arrive there by hitch hiking. We went there almost because of the climbing possibilities : yes we are carrying our rock climbing shoes from the beginning and we want to use them.
The luck bring us in the night to a camping which was owned by the guy who open the 200 climbing routes of the area ! That means we have a climbing wall and a slackline inside the camping and the best guide for climbing here.
Me and Paula are both beginners with rock climbing so we start very easy and increase the difficulty every day, trying to lead both of us on each climb :
That’s means climbing on a cliff were there is no rope and putting it ourselves, securing using QuickDraw which is a bit more scary than indoor climbing with a rope already set up. After climbing there is small lakes and waterfalls 200 metres from the camping to relax and refresh.
The village were we stay was so small that is was almost impossible to buy vegetables and bread. One day Paula found a water melon in a shop and as she was looking at it with insistence so the shop keeper told her that this water melon was already sold and waiting for his owner. Only one water melon in the village and already sold ! Hopefully there is a market on Sunday and we were waiting all the week for it. And the deception comes on Sunday morning when we realised that this market was composed of only one guy and one table !
